Effective date: April 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how The Anxiety Authority (operated by Matt Mueller, LPC) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit theanxietyauthority.com or interact with this website.

If you are looking for information about how your protected health information (PHI) is handled in the course of receiving clinical services, please see the Notice of Privacy Practices. This Privacy Policy covers the public-facing website only.

Who we are

Matt Mueller, LPC, operating as The Anxiety Authority. Office address: 302 Provines Dr, Austin, TX 78753. Contact: matt@theanxietyauthority.com.

Information we collect

Information you provide

If you submit the contact form on this website, we collect your name, email address, an optional indication of what brings you to therapy, and any message you choose to include. This form opens your device's default email application so that you can send a message directly; the form itself does not store your submission on this website.

Information collected automatically

This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like most websites, server logs may record your IP address, browser type, referring page, and the pages you visit. This site does not use cookies, analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising trackers.

Third-party services

This site loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). When your browser requests these fonts, Google may receive your IP address. See Google's privacy policy for details.

This site links to external booking and profile pages (Headway and Psychology Today). When you follow those links, their privacy policies apply.

How we use information

We do not sell personal data. We do not share contact form information with third parties except as needed to provide a service you have requested (for example, coordinating an appointment).

Email is not secure for health information

Please do not include sensitive health or diagnostic information in the website contact form or in email. Standard email is not encrypted and is not a HIPAA-secure channel. For clinical communication, we will coordinate a secure method (phone call, scheduling platform, or a HIPAA-compliant portal).

Data retention

Because the contact form opens your own email application, any message you send lives in your sent folder and the recipient's inbox. Inquiry emails are retained only as long as needed to respond and coordinate services, after which they are deleted.

Your rights under Texas law

Under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (Tex. Bus. & Com. Code Ch. 541), Texas residents have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, email matt@theanxietyauthority.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will respond within 45 days as required by law. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our response; if the appeal is denied, you may contact the Texas Attorney General.

Children

This website is intended for adults seeking mental health services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have received information from a minor, please contact us so we can delete it.

Security

We use HTTPS encryption for all traffic to this site. However, no method of transmission over the internet is fully secure. Please use the guidance above when sharing sensitive information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" above reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated on this page.
