Stop coping.
Start recovering.

Matt Mueller, LPC, MA — Licensed Professional Counselor

Anxiety, panic, OCD, and trauma don't have to run your life. As a therapist who has personally recovered from an anxiety disorder, I help clients move beyond short-term coping to lasting, evidence-based recovery.

Watch my story
"You're not broken and you're not alone."

I know what it's like when your mind won't stop.

I've personally recovered from an anxiety disorder. I know the exhaustion of constant worry, the isolation of intrusive thoughts, and the frustration of being told to "just relax." That experience is what drives me as a clinician — I don't just understand anxiety from a textbook. I've lived it.

I hold a Master's Degree in Counseling from Texas State University and have worked at the University of Texas Laboratory for the Study of Anxiety Disorders since 2015. My work sits at the intersection of clinical practice and active research, which means the treatment I provide is always grounded in what the science actually says works.

Therapy with me is active, direct, and collaborative. I'm not going to just nod and ask "how does that make you feel?" — we'll build real skills, challenge the patterns keeping you stuck, and teach your brain and body that you are safe.

Specialized, not scattered.

I focus on the conditions I know best — and treat them with proven, evidence-based methods that go beyond surface-level coping.

Anxiety & Panic

Persistent worry, “what if” spirals, panic attacks, physical tension, avoidance behaviors — when anxiety becomes your default operating mode, we work to rewire the response at its root.

OCD

Intrusive thoughts, compulsive rituals, mental loops that won’t quit. I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) — the gold standard for OCD — to help you break the cycle for good.

Trauma & PTSD

Whether it’s a single event or years of accumulated stress, trauma reshapes how you see the world. We work together to process what happened and reclaim your sense of safety.

ADHD

Focus issues, impulsivity, emotional dysregulation — ADHD often shows up alongside anxiety. I help you build structure and strategies that work with your brain, not against it.

Depression

Low motivation, persistent sadness, feeling disconnected from the things that used to matter. We identify what’s keeping you stuck and build a path back to engagement and meaning.

Stress & Life Transitions

Career shifts, relationship changes, major life decisions — sometimes you don’t need a diagnosis, you need a skilled thinking partner to help you navigate what’s next.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

CBT

Identify and reshape the thinking patterns and behaviors that keep anxiety alive. Practical, structured, and backed by decades of research.

Exposure & Response Prevention

ERP

The gold standard for OCD treatment. We systematically face what triggers you — in a safe, controlled way — so your brain learns the feared outcome doesn’t happen.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy

ACT

Learn to accept difficult thoughts without letting them control you. Build psychological flexibility and reconnect with what actually matters to you.

Mindfulness & Somatic Work

MBCT + SOMATIC

Calm the nervous system, build body awareness, and develop the ability to be present without being overwhelmed. The body keeps the score — we address it.
